 Given the right set of circumstances SEC Ventures will incubate and grow a new business in house. We have our own pipeline of ideas, but are also open to working with entrepreneurs on their concepts.
We are particularly interested in ideas that both address major problems / inefficiencies and would help the common good if addressed successfully. We find that companies that pursue these combined goals attract people who are passionate about the cause of the company and about making money.
The people involved in SEC Ventures have been founders or key contributors to firms that have democratized and improved access to higher education (Embark), brought discount trading to main street (Charles Schwab) and now are working on bringing efficient and objective retirement information, tools and solutions to the 78 million baby boomers (NewRetirement).
